Retiro is most impotant park in Madrid. His full name is Parque del Buen Retiro.
It has many places and monuments that can be visited.
For example, when you walk through the Puerta de Alcalá you see the pond. Here you can rent rowboats and take a boat ride on the lake, enjoying a nice time.
At the edge of the pond is the monument to Alfonso XII, where on Sundays you can see musicians playing drums and other instruments.
Beside the lake is the Crystal Palace, where many exhibits are made.
The Walk Statuary is a walk with statues on both sides of the Spanish monarchs.
You can make many Activities.
As puppet shows, musicians, fortune tellers and seers, actors dressed as children’s characters like Mickey, are some of the things that you can usually find. Shows like The Book Fair will also do.
The plans that you can do in Retiro:
In its gardens you can hang out with friends and have a picnic, a good time and in good company.
You can rent bikes or family car “Diverbikes” and go with family or friends. You can also take the skates.
And every year at Christmas, the park is full of trees and Christmas decorations put a skating rink.
You can enjoy the park from 7.00 to 22.00. A whole day of fun and mystery that you have to discover.

Going for a walk at the Retiro is a pleasurable experience any time in the year…! I can´t work out if it is nicer in the summer, or in these cold winter days… And visiting the temporary exhibitions in the Palacio de Cristal or in the Palacio de Velázquez is absolutely a “must” for contemporary art lovers!!
